This policy explains how long BoundaryLogic keeps the documents, plots, and account information that customers put into our Services, and how data is removed on request. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy at https://boundarylogic.com/legal/privacy-policy the Terms of Service at https://boundarylogic.com/legal/terms-of-service, and the Software Services Agreement at https://boundarylogic.com/legal/software-services-agreement. Where a customer has an executed agreement with us setting different terms, that agreement controls.
What this policy covers
Two kinds of data:
- Customer Content. The deeds, easements, plats, and other documents uploaded to our Services, the legal descriptions entered by hand, and the projects, layers, and plots produced from them.
- Account data. The information identifying an account and its authorized users, such as name, email address, team membership, and billing records.
How long we keep it
We keep Customer Content and account data for as long as the account exists. Nothing expires on a schedule, and nothing is removed because it has not been opened in a while: a project plotted last year is still there at the next sign in, which is the point of keeping the work in one place.
After an account closes we keep data only where we need it to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements, and only for as long as that need lasts. Billing records are kept for the period tax and accounting rules require.
We do not train on your data
BoundaryLogic does not use Customer Content to train artificial intelligence models. Neither do the AI providers we engage: under each provider’s API terms, the inputs and outputs of document processing are not used to train that provider’s models and are not stored longer than the provider needs to return the result and meet its abuse monitoring obligations. Each provider is named on the Sub-processors page.
Closing an account and removing its content
Any customer, on any plan, can close an account and have its Customer Content removed. Write to support@boundarylogic.com from the account’s email address. We confirm the request in writing and tell you when it is done. We aim to complete a full account removal within 30 days of verifying the request. After that we keep only what we need to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements, and only for as long as that need lasts.
Requests under applicable data protection law are handled under that law, whatever plan you are on and whether the account is open or closed. Write to support@boundarylogic.com.
Removal of part of an account’s content, while the account stays open, is available on request on every paid plan. Write to support@boundarylogic.com from the account’s email address and state the scope. Requests are handled at account or team scope. Narrower removals, such as a single project or selected database records, are handled case by case.
A service fee may apply. Any fee is quoted in writing before work begins. Customers with an executed enterprise agreement are governed by that agreement.
Retention schedules
Enterprise customers can set a retention schedule with us instead of the default. That can be a fixed period after which content is removed, a shorter window for one class of document, or a hold that keeps content in place beyond the default. Ask us and we will scope it with you.
