Closure

Closure is the test of whether a plotted boundary returns to its point of beginning. If every call in a description were perfect, the boundary would close exactly. In practice small errors leave a gap between the start point and the end point, and the size of that gap, reported as a distance or a percentage, is the first check run on any plotted description.
