Trace keeps you signed in until you sign out. There is no timeout to watch and no remember-me box to tick. To sign out:
- At the bottom of the sidebar, click the account card showing your name and email.
- Click Sign out.
How long does a session last?
Until you sign out. Your session is stored in the browser and survives reloads, closing the tab, and restarting the computer. Trace waits for that stored session before drawing any page, which is why the app pauses briefly on a cold start.
Is there a remember-me option?
No, and there is no visible session timeout either. Staying signed in is the only behavior.
What does signing out actually do?
It clears everything Trace is holding in that browser, including which team you were working in, and ends the session. You land on the sign-in page. If any part of that fails, Trace clears it anyway and still signs you out.
Can I see my active sessions, or sign out everywhere?
There is no session or device list in Trace, and no per-device sign-out. Signing out ends the session on the browser you are using.
Two things do end every session at once. Changing your password from Account settings replaces your password, and deleting your account signs you out everywhere. If you are worried a session is open somewhere you cannot reach, change your password.
Why did a link drop me on the dashboard instead of the page I wanted?
Because you were signed out when you opened it. Every page needs a session, so Trace sent you to sign in first, and it does not remember the page you asked for. Sign in, then open the link again.
Do I have to sign out on a shared computer?
Yes. The session survives a closed browser, so the next person on that computer opens Trace inside your account. Sign out before you leave it.
