Availability: Professional, Expert and Enterprise · Role: owner

Let your team keep plotting with AI after the shared pool is empty. Extra plots bill at $3.00 each at the end of the cycle. You switch it on for the plan, then choose which members may use it.

Before you start

  • You hold billing authority: the owner on any plan, or an admin on Expert and above.
  • The team has an active subscription. Free teams have no pay-as-you-go.

Turn it on for the team

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Click Pay-as-you-go settings. The dialog shows the current status and explains how it works.
  3. Move the toggle. A preview names what the change will do.
  4. Click Enable Pay-as-You-Go. The button stays disabled until the toggle actually changes.

The billing page then carries a pay-as-you-go badge on the current plan card. Switching it off works the same way, through Disable Pay-as-You-Go.

Choose who can use it

Pay-as-you-go is granted per member, not to the whole team at once.

  1. Go to the Team page.
  2. In the members table, find the pay-as-you-go switch on the member’s row.
  3. Turn it on. The switch flips once the change is saved.

Until pay-as-you-go is on for the plan, every row’s switch is disabled and says so. The column does not exist on Free. A row locked by a pending ownership transfer cannot be changed until that transfer resolves.

What it costs

$3.00 per plot, billed at the end of the cycle. That is the overage rate and it is higher than a prepaid pool, which is $1.80 per plot and rolls over for up to 3 months. If your team regularly runs past its pool, a bigger pool is the cheaper answer; pay-as-you-go is for the month you did not see coming.

The pay-as-you-go link and dialog appear on Professional and Expert. Enterprise pools change through your account team, so the self serve option does not appear there.
