Summary
Trace sends seven emails. Every one of them comes from support@boundarylogic.com, and every link in them lands back on the Trace app. If you know what to expect, a missing email is easier to chase and a fake one is easier to spot.
Usage notes
The emails
| Subject | What triggers it | What it carries |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome to BoundaryLogic Trace | Registering an account | Confirmation that your account is ready |
| Verify your email address | Reaching the verify step, hitting the verification wall, or clicking any Resend control | A Verify My Email button and the raw link. Works once. |
| Your BoundaryLogic Trace sign-in link | Entering your email on the sign-in card and clicking Continue | A Sign In button and the raw link. Works once, expires soon. |
| Reset your BoundaryLogic Trace password | Using Forgot password, or Change on the account Security card | A Reset My Password button and the raw link. Works once. |
| Your Trace password was changed | Completing a password reset | The account, when it changed, and what to do if it was not you |
| Invitation to join {team} team on BoundaryLogic Trace | An admin inviting an address with no Trace account | An Accept Invitation button and the raw link. Expires after 7 days. |
| A team invitation notice naming the person who invited you | An admin inviting an address that already has a Trace account | A link to the normal sign-in page. There is no invite link, because the membership is already live. |
Make sure they arrive
Add support@boundarylogic.com to your safe senders, and ask whoever runs your mail filtering to allow it. Verification and sign-in emails are time-sensitive, and a spam quarantine is the usual reason one never turns up.
Links that only work once
Sign-in, verification, reset, and invitation links are all single use. Clicking an old one shows an expired or invalid message rather than signing you in. Ask for a fresh one instead of retrying an old email.
Invitation links are the strictest: resending an invitation kills every link sent before it, so always open the newest invitation email.
Sending limits
Trace sends at most one sign-in link a minute and one verification email a minute per address. A faster request may be dropped even though the app reports success, so wait a minute before trying again rather than clicking repeatedly.
Two things worth knowing
The password-changed notice is only sent after Trace confirms the password really changed, so it is not something anyone can trigger against your address. And registering through an invitation has been observed to deliver two identical welcome emails seconds apart; both are genuine and neither needs action.
If an email looks wrong
Trace never asks for your password by email. Every genuine link points at the Trace app. If something claiming to be from Trace asks for your password or points somewhere else, do not use it, and forward it to support@boundarylogic.com.
