Accept a team invite

An invitation puts you into someone else’s team workspace with your own account.

Before you start

• The invitation email, which arrives from support@boundarylogic.com with the subject “Invitation to join {team} team on BoundaryLogic Trace”.
• The link works once and expires after 7 days.

Steps

1. In the invitation email, click Accept Invitation. The wizard opens with a banner naming the team and the address you were invited at.
2. Enter your first and last name, then click Continue.
3. Create a password, then click Continue. If your team requires single sign-on there is no password step; use Sign up with Google or Sign up with Microsoft instead.
4. On the “Joining {team}” step, click Go to your workspace.
5. Verify your email if you signed up with a password. Trace has already sent the verification email; open it, click Verify My Email, then click I’ve verified, continue. Members who joined with Google or Microsoft skip this.

Joining with Google or Microsoft

Pick Sign up with Google or Sign up with Microsoft and the identity you choose finishes the wizard with no password. If that email already has a password account, Trace opens Link Your Accounts and asks for the existing password before linking the two.

Choose the identity that matches the invited address. Nothing forces the popup to use it, and picking a different Google or Microsoft account creates a separate personal account, leaves you outside the team. If you end up alone in a workspace with no team, that is what happened. Ask your admin to resend the invitation and accept it with the invited address.

If the link does not work

“Invalid invite link” means the link is unknown or already used. “Invite expired” means more than 7 days passed. Either way, ask a team admin to resend it. Resending issues a new link so always use the newest email.

If you are already signed in to Trace, sign out first, then open the link.
