Print View composes a printable plot sheet from your project: the drawing, a title block, the disclaimer, and a call table for every visible legal description. PDF export works on every plan, Free included, and never uses credits.

Before you start

  • The project holds at least one plotted legal description.
  • Hide anything you do not want on the sheet first. Hidden layers drop out of the drawing and out of the call tables, and hiding is the only way to scope an export. Manage layers covers it.

Steps

  1. In the project menu, click Print View. The workspace replaces the map, with the live preview on the left and PDF Export Settings on the right. The preview reads “Preparing sheet view…” until the project loads.
  2. Choose a Boundary Background. The three options are Sheet View, Light, and Satellite Streets. Sheet View is the default, and the page selects it on arrival whatever map mode the project was last showing.
  3. Frame the drawing with the fit and zoom controls over the preview. They are excluded from the capture, so they never print.
  4. Fill in the title block. Map Title, Show Date, and Show Prepared By start checked, and Show Notes starts cleared. The Title field always opens blank, so type the title you want even though the project already has a name.
  5. Set the preparer. Prepared By lists everyone in your team by full name with their email beneath, and defaults to you. For a name outside the team, click Not in the list? and type it.
  6. Optional: check Show Notes and add a line for whoever reads the sheet.
  7. Choose what the drawing labels. Project Boundaries sets the five label layers at once; under it, Project Boundary, Show Calls on Project Boundaries, Show Monuments, Show Bearing Labels, and Show Legal Description Labels each toggle on their own. These are the same label settings the map workspace drives, so a change here follows the project.
  8. Leave Show BoundaryLogic Trace Disclaimer and Show Legal Description Calls checked unless you have a reason not to. Clearing the second drops every call table from the sheet.
  9. Click EXPORT AS PDF. The label becomes “EXPORTING…”, the button disables, and the finished file downloads on its own under the project name plus _export.pdf. A green alert confirms it and carries a Download Exported PDF link in case the download did not start.

What the settings panel controls

Setting What it does Starts
Boundary Background What the plot is drawn over, and therefore what the export captures Sheet View
Map Title and Title The Title cell of the title block Checked, field blank
Show Date The Date cell, carrying today’s date Checked
Show Prepared By The preparer cell and its picker Checked, set to you
Show Notes and Notes The Notes cell beside the preparer Cleared
Project Boundaries Sets the five label layers together Checked
Show BoundaryLogic Trace Disclaimer The disclaimer band under the drawing Checked
Show Legal Description Calls The call tables under the title block Checked

Two of the plot content settings are background specific. Project Boundary and its call, monument and bearing labels appear under Sheet View, and Show Legal Description Labels appears under a Mapbox background, because the plot sheet paints those names from its own label layer.

The background list is shorter here

Print View offers three backgrounds where the map workspace offers nine map modes. Streets, Satellite, Outdoors, Dark, BoundaryLogic Trace 3D, and Basic Overcast cannot be used as a PDF background. Map modes and styles covers the full set.

When the export fails

A red banner names the step that failed. “Map reference not available.” means a map background was chosen before the basemap finished drawing: wait for the map, or switch to Sheet View, then export again.

What lands in the file

The sheet prints the drawing, the disclaimer, the title block, and a call table for every visible legal description, grouped under its source document. Reading the PDF plat covers the finished file block by block, including the captions that differ from this panel. A generated file is fixed at the moment you export it, so a later layer change means exporting again.

The BoundaryLogic Trace Logo checkbox is the one control on this page that depends on your plan. On Expert and Enterprise you can clear it or print your team’s own logo instead. Title blocks and logos on PDF covers it.
